PhD student Sruthy Vattaparambil Sudharsan will present research results on the influence of forest management on biomass chemistry and structural properties for prodution of bioenergy and materials.
This webinar discusses how forest management pathways shape the chemical composition of biomass, including cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin types, extractives and fuel-quality parameters such as volatile matter, fixed carbon, and ash content in fast-growing broadleaved trees such as poplar.
We will also examine changes in microstructural properties such as density, cell wall thickness, and pore size. These characteristics are critical for determining biomass performance in bioenergy conversion and bio-based material production.
The presentation is held by Sruthy Vattaparambil Sudharsan, PhD student at Luleå University of Technology and within Trees For Me.
