Webinar: Various insights from breeding and silviculture of birch

8/22/2025

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Online

Get the latest insights related to research on breeding and silviculture of silver birch in Sweden.

The presentation will show how birch breeding can benefit from new findings in flower induction to accelerate breeding cycles. Results will also be shared from field trials on soil preparation and fertilization that demonstrate the potential to enhance birch establishment and growth. By combining genetic insights with practical silvicultural measures, the aim is to present a comprehensive view of how the birch production potential can be improved.

The presentation is held by researcher Mateusz Liziniewicz and PhD student Giovanni Bozza, both working for Skogforsk and within Trees For Me.

About the research projects focused on tree breeding and silviculture.
