Small-diameter trees from early thinning can be a source of energy biomass. But are conventional forest management systems and technology cost-efficient and sustainable enough for the utilization of small-diameter trees?
The webinar will bring recent insights about mixed forest management, bioenergy biomass potential from young stand management and technology and system for small-diameter tree harvest.
The presentation is held by Dan Bergström, associate professor at the Department of Forest Biomaterials and Technology, SLU, Umeå. Dan Bergström is co-supervisor of Swastika Chakravorty, PhD student at the Department of Engineering Sciences and Mathematics, Luleå University of Technology and within Trees For Me.
