PhD student Caroline Rapp presents the latest updates from the research project on interest groups’ perspectives on fast-growing broadleaves.
An increase in fast-growing broadleaves needs to be accepted by people with diverse interests in order to be just and legitimate. Using interviews, this study examined acceptability of increasing fast-growing broadleaf species among organisations reflecting forestry, recreation, environmental, reindeer herding, and policy perspectives.
The organisations highlight different opportunities and challenges associated with an increase of these species, with potential implications for the scope and the way in which an increase of fast-growing broadleaves may be accepted.
The presentation is held by Caroline Rapp, PhD student in geography at Umeå University and within Trees For Me.
